About Nuala

Nuala Jamison was a unique artist and an inspiring teacher.

She was lucky enough to be able to divide her time between studios in London and West Cork in Ireland. She had the best of both worlds drawing inspiration from both the urban city space as well as the natural beauty of Bantry Bay and the southern Irish coast.

The acrylic material she used was made in sheet or rods and comes in over fifty beautiful colours. She carved and shaped the pieces with pumice over several weeks to achieve the weathered appearance.

Nuala loved colour and over time developed ways of dyeing and colouring the clear material to enhance the reflective qualities - sometimes creating a subtle blend of shades and other times mixing together contrasting colours.

Nuala also taught at Morley College in London as well as running jewellery making courses from her studio in Ireland. Nuala passed away in August 2016. This gifted artist will be much missed.
